ALZHEIMERSHello my name is Andrew eBook Michael Roberts

Ever wonder how in the world you were going to care for your best friend, your husband, or your wife with Alzheimers? Because I did too! I was new to all of this. You have to start somewhere and the more you know, the better it is on you, the caretaker. You do give up a great deal of your social life, but how much and for how long? This book is an accumulation of over a year with Andrew. I'm still caring for him, and yes, it's progressively getting worse. If you or someone you know is facing this situation, first, get as much information as you can. I wasn't given that luxury. This is my first hand experience with Andrew and Alzheimers as his caretaker and friend. The contents of this book were taken from my journal. If I repeat myself, I apologize but what you find here, just may help you 'ride out the storm' and make your journey less painful.
Coming out in August is the sequel named " The Long, Long, Goodbye". This final journal goes deeper into the affects on friends and famly, how well I'm holding up, or not? And some humorous incidents that happened at the right time. Andrew's personality is slipping away faster as he becomes more child like in his persistant questions. Please leave a review for others and myself of course! God bless.

This book is a great inside view of taking care of someone with Alzheimer's. I think Alzheimer's is a hideous disease. It steals the mind, even if the body is still working. It is such a sad thing to see. The author talks about some of those times in his own experience of caring for an Alzheimer patient. It was not an easy job for him, and to add to it all, the patient had a little dog that had to be cared for, also.Product details

This book was written by a novice caretaker and although the edits are needed, the basic facts are true and heartfelt. The author does not hold back. The emotions aare as real as are the events. If you or someone you know is going to care for another with Alzhiemers, try this book. It is not filled with medical jargon and "over my head" technical terms, rather from the heart and facts.
Having not had to deal with Alzheimer related issues until recently in my life, I found this book to be frank, clear, and honest about the daily incidents and slight changes that occur over time with Alzheimer's patients. It opened my eyes to see little changes in my own elderly family members that I have just ignored as "old age" up to now. It also showed me that kindness, humor, and understanding are a necessary part of this difficult process for all involved. An easy and informative read for everyone. This author speaks from the heart.
The enlightening message that the author tries to convey through his book is completely lost in the bevy of grammatical errors. However, I kept reading so that I could understand the struggles of a caregiver in this situation. The ABC's at the end were absolutely riddled with errors and should be struck from the book. Honestly, this book would have been great if there were less errors and some thorough edits so we didn't have to hear some of the same stories twice.
